Watch out for the April Fools BAN
I come home from a long day of classes and decide that I will spend some time relaxing and playing some Guild Wars. But to my surprise my account (along with at least 50 other accounts that I know of, all for the same reason) have been falsely banned for "trading real-world money for GW items or gold".
Strange, I thought the completely uncreative Stick Figure idea was the only April Fools joke this year.
To clarify, I am a poor college student. I get no grants, no loans, my parents passed away years ago so I'm completely on my own with college. I work 40-55 hrs a week just to pay the bills and eat ramen. So, why would I spend money I don't have to progress in a game that I don't care that much about?
Even more odd, is that this is the second time in the last two weeks I have been banned (last time there was no explanation, simply you were banned for breaking the EULA).
At least my last experience helped me to understand what the soft lips of Arena net feel like on my rear when they write you an apology letter.
So if you have falsely been banned, prepare to bend over. I'm sure our April Fool's apology isn't far away

IDK, but you did spend 50-200 dollars to buy the game and expansions. I think that may have been your first mistake since you are a poor college student. If money were that tight I would have to say you shouldn't have bought the game in the first place tbh.
(PS I am also a college student, don't have much money because I don't have time to work and I bought the game with birthday money as my education is paid for thanks to tuition remission and scholarships, so I kinda see where you are coming from)

To clarify, I have not accepted large amounts of money. I farm with my necro. I only have one account, so I have not traded between them. And the only reason I own the game is because my fiance gave me the game as one of my Christmas presents. I really don't have enough money to buy any skill packs, or expansions

Methinks that complaining here will do you 0 good. Send a support ticket to Anet Support as Shiney said. It's your best bet.

This was more of an attempt to inform others who have had the same problem that they are not alone. And honestly, I expect the same response I received for my last accidental ban (hence the last line of my first post).

Good, that is all you can do and it's not a new problem. Many others have reported it.

Pretty much my thoughts on it right there. Yes it sucks, but it happens to people. And everyone already knows. That is why everyone is just telling you to send in a support ticket. We have seen it all before.

I think it would be a good idea - as these threads keep appearing - to make ONE such thread for people to moan in.
The "WTF I've been banzored fer nothing" thread perhaps.
That way, hopefully it gives a place for people to vent, without them being flamed and harshly dealt with.
I can understand the desire to share the sobbing and let people know what could have caused the ban by telling us. Some of these threads have given me notice to be more careful. Surely ONE particular thread on the subject, somewhere, would be a helpful tool for people to avoid similar mishaps.
